Lead Associate Attorney – Social Security Disability Department

Sarah A. Frederick has a longstanding history of fighting for the rights of individuals with disabilities.  She was previously a Staff Attorney with the Volunteer Lawyers Project under the AIDS Institute grant to serve individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.  Ms. Frederick honed her skills as a disability advocate during her seven year tenure at Heritage Centers,  the Erie County chapter of NYSARC, Inc., where she provied legal representation to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Ms. Frederick was recently elected President of the Board of Directors of Lawyers for Learning and serves as a volunteer tutor at Buffalo Public School 18 . She also serves as a volunteer panelist on the Surrogate Decision Making Committee for the New York State Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities and is an active member of the Erie County Bar Association Committee for the Disabled as well as the WNY Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association.

 Ms. Frederick is a 2002 graduate of UB Law where she completed the Community and Economic Development Clinic. She obtained her B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, DC. Ms. Frederick is admitted to practice in New York State, and Federal District Courts for the Western District of New York and the Western District of Pennsylvania.

 As the Lead Associate in the Social Security Department at Bernhardi & Lukasik, PLLC, Ms. Frederick will continue her fight for the rights of individuals with disabilities.
